Planning a Network Installation

Create a Network Map

A network map is a visual record of your network conﬁguration. Create a

network map by copying a ﬂoor plan diagram and adding graphics repre-

senting devices and cabling. Modify the map as you change your plans, and

use the completed map as a guide during installation. It is a good idea to cre-

ate the map on a computer so you can easily modify it.
